Journal Entry: Sun Aug 30, 2009, 2:54 PM

Look at it, tell me what you think! You better be looking at my stuff now dudes!! lol

Since none of you thought to write me with feature suggestions (this is likely because nobody reads my crap EVER) I'm just going to post some that I feel warrant sharing.

Before I post those, let me ask you.. Do you have a little extra dough to send me so that I can invest in a Nikon 300mm F4 AFS?? I desperately need a dedicated prime for wildlife and am begging at this point. I'm a disabled vet and can't work, my camera is my only potential income! :( Well, if inclined you can make a donation through my paypal account

paypal : graduatelinda@hotmail.com

I will send you a print of one of my photos in return :)

Cheers people!

Linda

It's been a while!

Journal Entry: Sat May 23, 2009, 8:26 PM

Hey peeps! It's been a little while since I've updated my journal, so I will give you the highlights of the happenings in my life (for those that are interested)
I'm looking at yet another back surgery.. unfortunately the surgery I had in December seemed to have worked only temporarily since I didn't sit still long enough apparently post surgery. dumb me. I did manage to land a "real" job, you know, one outside the realm of photography. I am working again as a chemist... yay!? I'm up to my ears in bills, so I needed something to fix that since my photo biz lost all steam.. nobody is even booking me anymore :( I wish I was better at self promotion.. I need someone to pimp me out because lord knows I suck balls at that! I also got my dog back! He ran away in December after the door to the house I was staying in blew open in my absence and the person watching him didn't notice right away... He was back in my arms in late March and though it took him a while to get readjusted again, he's doing 90% better now. God I love that little guy! I'm also seeing Charlie again, the guy I moved to WA for.

Photography wise I'm trying to save up some money for an additional lens so I can get some better bird/wildlife photos. I go out to the wild regularly but having hardly been posting anything on DA since I never feel my work is "good enough". C'est la vie right? I'm going to try to be slightly better about that but who knows.

Now I'm off to watch a some cartoons and snuggle up with my pup!

Creative Juices and a Pool
I often browse for an hour or two through the amazing galleries on DA and wonder where all that great imagination comes from.. I mean.. I will sit behind my computer staring at a blank screen or stare at a blank page in my sketchbook for hours with nothing comming out except maybe some garbagio! I am stunned at how creative everyone is and curious as to what gets your juices flowing! For me, personally, it is the work of others, no or little inspiration comes from a daydream.. it makes me feel like I am totally uncreative. Does anyone else fell that way?

In other news I'm happy to report that my recovery from the back surgery I recently had is going swimmingly. I say swimmingly because I swim 3 times a week now and am slowly getting back into shape. Though I will say I have these crazy midnight snack attacks, not helping the whole wanna lose weight business! Damn you foods!

Featured by me means it ROCKS!

Jeremy Lusk, an amazing freestyler from Cali died after a horrific crash a few days ago... here is the video [link]

This has me really shaken up. If you didn't know already I am a rider myself and after 2 horrible accidents I broke my back and had surgery this past December... I have been stupid. Jeremy was amazing, now he is no more.. I need to mourn him and realize that I need to keep both my wheels on the ground. Nothing is worth losing once's life over and I could have lost mine. I'm lucky enough to only have to suffer from my broken back.. RIP my friend!

Some awesome works I love and you should too!

The New Year is Comming

It's been a trying few months for me. First I lost the man I loved, then I found out my mother has breast cancer and underwent a double masectomy and to top it off I just(Dec 1, 2008)had major back surgery to repair several severely ruptured discs and a torn sciatic nerve.

Amidst all my own personal drama/hell I have managed to revamp my website a little and produce the much anticipated (well locally anticipated) Rodger's Pet Park Calendar! I just received the box with calendars in the mail and wow, they look good! The proceeds of my calendar will go to the local Humane Society, so if you're interested or know someone who is, don't hesitate to contact me @ graduatelinda@hotmail.com or right here on DA!

The Calendar is available through my website's web store!
